Rope. End. Me.

Okay, folks, I am nearing the end of my rope, and I need some tips.

I've got a (Susan Bates) circular needle set that are a nice size and everything, that I've had for a year or so, and the cable is still coiling up. I've tried the hot water technique (even ended up accidentally melting an old peanut butter jar in the process), and it helped relax the cable briefly, but it ended up coiling again. I've used it for small projects, and I recently decided to use it for a current scarf project, figuring more use (and something as heavy as a Harry Potter scarf) might loosen it up, but it's still incredibly, frustratingly coiled.

So, does anyone know of any other ways I might be able to reign in my unruly cable? Thanks!
