Ladies, I am going to the Goodwood Revival this year, which means that I will need a 1940s outfit for a Sunday in mid-September.
Does anyone have anything in size 14-16 that they might be willing to lend or sell cheaply?

I am guess you don't take the same shoes size as me, as I have these heeled two tone brogues, but they're size 5.
Or you could blow a load of cash at Tara Starlett (it is a very good website, but all their prices just went up - however, you would look very hot in many of their clothes).

It occurs to me that both these dresses are going to be a smigde shorter on you than me ;) You'll possibly end up being somewhat racey for the period.

Does it have to be strictly 40s? I know when I was there we saw everything from flappers to Grease look-a-likes.
Any light tea-length dress could work, even an old ladyish creation from a charity shop - Macmillan on Unicorn Hill is a good one, also Scope above the bus station. Sainsbury have a polka dot dress in at the mo for £14 that may suit your needs- I'd lend you mine but I think a size 20 is a stretch too far. Also Matalan are likely to be having a sale soon on all their summer dresses.
How are you fixed for accessories and styling? Typically you'd want a little pillbox hat, a pair of gloves, seamed stockings (or tights and someone to draw on you with eyeliner) and comfortable shoes.
Um. Can you tell I love dressing up!

And it does have to be 1940s: I promised my Nan.

Although obviously, if you're skint, you can paint your legs in gravy browning!
I seem to remember you doing a pencil skirt, blouse and underbust corset look at party a while ago - I'm sure that would also do the job quite well.
Not that I'm enjoying thinking about you in 40s gear at all *whistles innocently and stops playing dress-me-up-Nita in her head*
