History Sum Up:
Helen arrived in Aliunde and quickly made very fast friends with Thor Odinson, Loki Laufeyson, and Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Kate Freelander had arrived before her, and thus the two started to build a Sanctuary for Aliunde. Helen was far from happy about it, as it was a small modern building, but made due with what renovations she could make to the building. Helen was then 'recruited' to be an ally for the Assassin Brotherhood that Ezio was setting up. Helen made quick friends with James T. Kirk, Dean Winchester, Castiel, Gabriel, and also employed Magnus Martinsson. Will Zimmerman also came to Aliunde and moved into the Sanctuary, becoming Helen's second in command again. Eventually, Riku, Liz Sherman, and Hellboy all moved into the Sanctuary. There were several others that she grew fond of, and fell into a "mother like" relationship with several of them.
The Sanctuary's purpose is slightly tweaked in Aliunde. It offers medical care and a place of refuge to anyone who needs it during the major events of the game, such as when Loki was manipulated into being in power and the aftermath of that. As well as when Thor's storm hit the city. Helen also had numerous amounts of friends visit the Sanctuary, but also was more for helping people understand their current situation and adjust accordingly.
Helen's biggest changes revolved around her cast. Her relationship with Will was strained due to their canon points, and after the Head Doctor mentioned Ashley, their relationship became worse. However, Helen left for a canon update and returned to Aliunde. Their relationship is on the mend, now that Helen has had 113 years to calm her jets.
Her relationship with Kate Freelander evolved and became more of a mentor-student, not just a mother-daughter. She was grooming Kate to be more than just the street help for the Sanctuary. Kate also acted as the Liaison for the Sanctuary to the Assassin Order.
Perhaps one of the biggest changes in her character through CR was the relationship with Ezio. Before her canon update, Helen learned to trust Ezio on a very personal level and the two actually grew into a very intimate and eventual sexual relationship. Returning to Aliunde made it stronger, as she had 113 years under her belt and wasn't an emotional basket case. The two were under a mutual understanding that their relationship was special, but would also stop should Ezio's fiancee from home - Sofia Sartor - return to Aliunde. The relationship was helping Helen learn to open up again. Not only to trust, but to the idea of being in love after the escapade with John Druitt in the 1800s. Given her trust for this man, she informed him about not only her daughter Ashley, but also the entire story of Adam Worth, Hollow Earth, and her own natural ability. She's convinced that Ezio's world and hers are ridiculously similar.
Name: Holmes
Character: Helen Magnus
Canon: Sanctuary
New Canon Point: post-Monsoon (4.04)
Summary: This is just a small bump to put her between 4.04 and 4.05. Nothing much changes, except the fact she's not covered in all sorts of wounds, as she did when she originally returned to Aliunde for her canon update.
Canon Building:
The Old City Sanctuary is the Sanctuary that Helen currently lives in and runs. It stands as the Head of the Sanctuary Network, is three stories tall (excluding roof + towers) and at least four levels, if not more, underground. The residential levels tend to be on the ground floor and above, including a gym and possibly swimming pool. Beneath the surface are the specialized habitats, the operating rooms, medical rooms, intensive care rooms and labs. Henry's lab, Helen's office and Will's office are located in the residential area of the building. There is also a large old cathedral section that holds memorial/funeral services when needed.
I will be doing an in depth visual post for the Sanctuary shortly and be linking it on the Maps & Locations site. For now, here is what the Sanctuary looks like on
the outside.
