I've just spent the evening with a marvelous book.

Usually I read at least three books in the same period, one in the car, one in the bath, one at the bedside, sometimes another one in my pocket. I started reading this one the same way. It's Saturday the 17th. So far this week I've missed two phonecalls I promised to make on Wednesday, dithered and didn't make a payment I promised on Thursday, ducked an important conversation on Friday. Just a few weeks ago, back in September, I gave my red 2006 Hyundai Elantra its 100,000 mile check-up ... it really had 105 kilomiles and more, but it was time for the big inspection items. Some issues turned up, I spent a bunch of money, the car was just fine afterward and I was glad I did it.

I dreamed and journaled and planned and figured my way into a fairly large 'next step' and then waited for Dear Husband to get back to the states from helping a friend move a sailboat -- a five week journey that he seems to have enjoyed at a very deep level. Wondering why I was having such a hard time choosing travel dates for the annual migration from the frozen North to warm water and the sailboat.
