This is just a little thing to warm me up (disregard the sphere and the background)- I still have to get a firm grip on what the final scene will look like. And this jar alone is giving me no end of grief, from the lighting (ambient light doesn't function like a light_source, so I have to cheat- as usual) to the weird spots that show up ever so often...
And I'm aiming to finish most hobbying by end of July, so I can review grade 10 and prepare to enter the torture chamber that will be grade 11 IB...
This is why I need a new POVRay tutor/personal help desk. That's you know, actually helpful. Screw the documentation (although reading it alone is quite informative), and do you know how hard it is to get straight answers from Heaven?!
Nothing against you, PM- you were great. =) But since you're up there and I'm down here, it's gotten a bit more complicated.
I blame my recent and very consuming obsession with Doctor Who on you, though.
Note: The jar's got screw threads for the cap, now. Kind of. Too lazy to open POV, render it and upload it...Argh.
Note II: Also googled New York lofts and got a few visual brain food things to chew over. Am wondering whether I should PhotoShop half of the thing, but that might feel more like cheating than I already am and I'd have to download PS and remember how to use it first...
Note III: Wth is assumed_gamma ?! Hey look...it makes things brighter...kind of...
Note IV: Ooooh, Gimp...
