The passage of time is stupid.

I just went out for a cigarette (okay, two cigarettes) and saw many of the neighbor children that I grew up with. I understand the natural progression of time and aging, but these kids have gotten so old. Little Laura, who I've known since she was three, drove past me. Drove. Past me. Drove! I haven't seen most of these people in probably five years (after awhile I just stopped attending neighborhood functions - yes, I'm from the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows all of their neighbors and has weekend cookouts) and they've all grown up into adult-like creatures. As I was sitting out, one of them, a boy named Pat, came up and talked to me. He's in college now. Apparently some of the kids have formed a loud and terrible band, which is highly amusing.

I'm in the process of re-writing my resume. I'm not good at it. Not good at all.
