I'm sitting here at a very different Thanksgiving celebration from my usual.  20+ people, all crowded around tables of mismatched heights, with chairs stolen from various houses, with silverware that doesn't match, and plates that can be thrown away.  The food is spectacular, and brought in by everyone.

There is nothing lonelier or sadder than an empty Christmas stocking.  Somebody put something in there, even if it's a lump of coal?  (I figure, hey, it's a lump of coal, which means it's a rock that burns.  That's actually pretty nifty, in a way.)

Last night, was, officially, the hardest night of my entire life.  Hell, the whole weekend was difficult, but last night topped it off considerably.

So, my birthday is either in 23 hours and 41 minutes (if you believe my mother), or it's in 19 hours and 41 minutes (if you believe my father).  And for some strange reason, there is no time written on my birth certificate.  Isn't that illegal?  I don't know; all I know is that my parents have been arguing about it for as long as I can remember.  ( Read more... )
