normally on a friday night I sit on the sofa enjoying some left-overs or frozen dinner and watch 3 solid hours of TLC, mostly "Say YES to the Dress", or "4 Weddings", both are fabulously rediculous shows involving mostly well-off chicks and their weddings that they are spending too much money on. it used to be the night for "what NOT to wear", I love that show, but they changed up the line-up and I still watch. anyway, i have been invited to a cocktail and appetizer party in which my friend, EP, makes lots of yummy foods and invites folks over for nibbles and conversation, the twist: NYU food studies graduate students are the reason for the gathering, and a few local foodies, 'real new orleans folks', and I am one of THOSE people. so, for the first friday in a really, really long time, I have a cute outfit on and I am going to have cocktail conversations with NYU grad students and represent New Orleans...
