I've managed a black & gold outfit each day this week, plus the Saints helmet earrings, and black & gold eye make-up. Right this minute we are making the grocery list for party fixin's and when we return from our errands today we are going to start moving things around and hooking up the extra TVs (a total of 4 televisions on at Ponce de leon Stadium, in 4 separate rooms. Have you seen the facebook thing about the number 4?).
On the menu thus far:
-Crockpot Couchon du Lait (Pork Butt slow cooked for a day and a half. It's like buttah.)
-Veggie Chili Cheese Dip (Velveeta and some tempeh chili out my freezer.)
-Granny's Artichoke Balls (a holiday favorite from St. Bernard Parish.)
-Ta's Sausage Ball (as per Fae's request, MA was very happy to oblige.)
**I've heard friends say they were bringing brownies, hotdogs n' chili, plus a king cake**
Every year we throw a Superbowl party. We make plans and cook food and even orchestrate distracting games like Superbowl BINGO and the 'pick the square' pool, mostly because we don't care about the teams who are playing. This year is so, so different. NO SUPERBOWL BINGO this year....we actually care about the game this year, alot!! My feelings about the Saints actually in the Superbowl have ranged from excited to nervous to thrilled to that crazy 'am I dreaming or is this real?' feeling. So freakin' surreal. Really.
