Saturday cont.
So we didn't finish the the Fury of Dracula game but Pat was totally winning. Its still laying on the table between the beds but unfinished. I didn't end up going to the Techno rave. Neither did Jen. I read a bit more of my Harry Dresden book but fell asleep before I could finish. Pat, Trip, Janel, and Lance did. Trip left the rave early to go to a drum circle, and then got back fairly late. Janel, Pat, and Lance planned to catch the last train back to the hotel but apparently misread the schedule time and missed the train by 30 minuets. So they went to a second concert and then had to walk to the hotel at 3am. I felt bad for them.
Sunday
So I woke up around 7 or so. Finished Turn Coat, the Harry Dresden Book. Guh... I want the new book now!! Anyway we all slowly woke up and made our way to con about 10:30am or so. Trip still needed extra sleep so he slept in. We grabbed some breakfast in the mall connected to the con Hotels, then made it to Pat and Lance's panel a few minuets earlier. The panel was awesome and filled with people. Pat and Lance did a great job talking about how horrible it'd be to have radioactive zombie apocalypse. It does indeed sound horrible. I hope it never happens.
Afterwards we grabbed lunch at Ninfas, Trip finally joining us, which was apparently a tradition. It was mediocre food but conversation was good. Afterwards people seperated to go do individual things. Pat had to go do another panel. Jen wanted to go to costuming panels. Trip, myself, and Lance wanted to go wander the dealer's rooms. We each wanted to do it individually, although Janel ended up following me around. We ended up buying some comics. I picked up a lot of Marvel Civil War trade backs. Janel picked up a Fable book and two Civil War trade backs for Pat. In one of the exhibition rooms I eyed the new version of Frag (Frag Gold) at Steve Jackson games.
So we got close to the time where Pat was giving another Panel that I was vaguely interested in, regarding climate change. It was also Pat's last panel. So Janel and I made our way there and caught up with Trip and Pat was just getting out of his panel. We found that someone had left the area the panel was in by an emergency exit, making it ring loudly, which had some people pissed off. It was the second time I had a (relatively) old con-goer sitting their bitching about how stupid people are. I ended up leaving to go into the panel room just to get away from the woman, and to try and get away from the noise. So we hung out there a little. I loaned Trip my Civil War trade to read, which he was interested in.
Sadly rather like the panel from yesterday that Pat was on, which was also on the apocalypse rising track. This one was about global warming but none of the panelists except for one really had any basis or clue about it other than opinions. And it became obvious very quickly. So I decided leave the panel and go outside and read some of my comics until the panel let out. After the panel Pat wanted to wander the Dealer's room. So we did. I ended up grabbing two more board games: Frag Gold Edition and Munchkin Quest (with the 5-6 player expansion).
After that we wandered over to the costume panel room to wait on Jen getting out, then decided to head to dinner. Trip raved about Benihana, so we went there. Second time this week I've had hibachi. Atmai's in College Station was better than Benihana's in Atlanta. We sat with two other people, a bit older than us, who I think were guests at the con. We talked a little between parties and it was overal a pleasant dinner. After that we came back to the hotel room and people proceeded to conk out and I started writing this post. I paused writing this post to play the game I picked up Friday night, the other Cthulhu game where you align the stars, with Trip, Lance, Pat. However Trip was called away to go help Jen get to the con. And Lance went with him. So I played with Pat. During that time Jen called and said she got off at the wrong stop. Then Trip called Pat and told him he shold probably get going because of the last train situation. So Pat had to leave, and now it is just me and Janel.
So that more or less ends Dragon Con for me. I did not know that DragonCon has Monday programming, or at least my flight schedule says I didn't know because my flight is at 7am in the morning. Which means I really need to get started about 5am. Which is about 4 hours away. So I'll probably be trying to catch some sleep after I finish this post. Then go ride the MARTA alone to the airport! It'll be an adventure.
