Ya know that song in Happy Feet? "Don't push me, I'm close to the edge, I'm trying not to loose my head."? I have NEVER felt so connected to a penguin in my life.
As most of you know, one of my roommates is absolutely awful. She's one of the worst human beings I have ever encountered. In fact, I'm willing to bet she kills butterflies and mows down daisies in her spare time. For example, last night she called her mom to send her printer ink (She calls her mom to send her crap all the time, with no regard on how much shipping or handling charges are, some things she demanded be sent up include: Printer ink, clothes, shoes, Pam [the cooking spray... that she can buy up here for $2], ear plugs [also available here for $1.25], toothpaste, etc.) Anyway, when she called her mom last night for ink, her mom told her in tears "I'm sorry, I really can't right now, I'm at the hospital, your grandpa just had to go in for emergency heart surgery". Normally you would think the first reaction would be "Is he ok?". No. Hers was "And you didn't tell me!? What, like I don't have a right to know?" and starts bitching her mom out, not once asking how her grandpa's condition was. She hangs up and starts complaining to me. So I say "Well, I hope your Grandpa is doing ok, don't you?" "Yea, whatever, it just pisses me off they don't tell me! I mean, I'm part of the family too!" "Yes... but don't you think her main concern right now is the health of her father? She's probably shaken up right now and calling you wouldn't be the first think that comes to mind. Don't you think?" "I don't care, it should be, I'm her daughter!" "Well, maybe she didn't want to stress you out. Maybe she only wanted to call you with good news after the surgery is over so you wouldn't have to worry for those hours?" "No, that's stupid."
At that point I had to walk away. I felt physically sick that someone could be that selfish.
Then, two nights ago I was using my computer to do homework, so I used the outlet by the table so I had workspace. I unplugged someones computer (which wasn't being used for hours). The next day I get bitched out by the normally good Brittany, freaking out that I unplugged her computer. By this point I was fed up (you all have heard how I have 6 inches of closet space and about 5 ft of wall space because my other roommates "got first dibs" on the space, and how I only have enough room in the freezer for one single hot pocket and I had to buy my own mini fridge because I have no room in the big one.) Someone "claiming" an outlet (the ONLY one that you can use near the table) was the last straw, so I told her that was nuts and I wasn't going to agree to that, especially when she wasn't using her computer, there was no reason it had to be plugged in. She got pissed and ripped mine out of the wall to plug hers in (at this point there was another empty outlet under it so she didn't have to rip mine out). In doing so, she tore the wires inside the adapter and now its broke. And so I'm at the computer lab now, trying to order a new $80 adapter... SUCKS. I need to get out of this fucking apartment.
*edit*- I just ordered the new adapter. It was $97.80 ... fuck this shit
