We just dropped $5,275 on a new roof (mostly a cross between insurance money and a home improvement loan). Of course, that means something else just has to be replaced. It wouldn't be right if we didn't have something else require maintenance when we're low on money.
So the furnace stops working. Specifically, the burners aren't kicking on, and now we have what appear to be two pilot lights - that's not good. I've turned off the gas to it in the interim, and I need to call the HVAC shop in town on Monday to get it looked at. Fortunately, the weekend temps were in the 50s, 60s, and 70s... but we're going to have sub-30 lows this week, and no heat. We're going to use space heaters for the time being, but I'm just worried about our daughter staying warm, and the pipes and whether or not they'll freeze.
I want to go on a tear of swearing and cursing, but right now, I'm just too depressed by it to have that be even remotely relieving.
