Ep. 2 [idda/taiyou/shoon] Lights Camera Action! SUNSHINE TAKE ONE!!
It was a bright and shiny morning at Aoyama University and Idda was walking around in a pair of denim shorts, a cute yellow t-shirt and vintage sneakers while eating ice cream. She was going to the nearest study hall to pass the time studying ( and probably tweeting) for her next class which was Japanese History. Gekujo-sensei was more packed than a 1000 mg sleeping pill and could put even an insomniac to sleep.
She was about to turn towards the air conditioned goodness of the study hall when she saw him. Ayukawa Taiyou. Sunshine. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt printed with some kind of character on it. He was playing futsal with a few friends and she stood there staring. Maybe, she shouldn’t go inside. It was nice out anyway.
Her phone buzzed. She looked at it and flipped it open. It was Shoon.
“Moshi-moshi?” she answered the phone distractedly as she watched Taiyou laugh. Oh, god! He was so cute!
“Where are you?” Shoon’s voice came through the speaker.
“Study Hall A. Just outside. Why?” She really didn’t care. She just wanted to watch her sunshine.
“I’m coming there,” The boy answered and ended the call.
“Heh?!” Idda stared at her phone for a while and shrugged. She returned to finding a seat and watching the game from under a small tree.
Ayukawa kicks and the ball flies over towards her. He seems to be calling out something but she can’t make it out until.
GONK!
“OW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “ The ball flew straight onto Idda’s head. Causing her to feel a little lightheaded.
It was around this time that Shoon’s voice was heard. “OI!!! Be careful where you kick the ball!” Shoon placed two shaved ice on the bench where Idda was currently on and checked on her.
“Namikaze-san! Idda-san! Are you okay?” Shoon’s face was contorted in worry.
Soon, Ayukawa Taiyou was next to her and inspecting her. “Sorry, Namikaze-chan, I was shouting for you to get away but I guess the noise was just too loud. I’ll be taking her to the clinic, Yamashita-kun.”
“No, I will take her. You’ve done enough damage here,” Shoon replied rather cooly to his former Big Brother.
“I said I was sorry!” Taiyou really wanted to take her. It was his fault. But he didn’t want to fight with Shoon and let go.
Shoon gathered her things quickly and took her to the clinic in lightning speed. “MOVE OUT!!” He cried out as he ran towards the medical arts building. Luckily, it wasn’t too far away.
All Taiyou could do was pick up her handkerchief and her ID which Shoon had left in his flurry. “Idda Namikaze, “ It read. He knew who she was. She was that cute girl who tripped on the way to class on her first day. She was in the class he was in charge of during Freshman Orientation. She bright, shiny and quite different from every girl he had met before. In fact, she shone brighter to him than the sun.
Maybe, this was God’s way of trying to help him to talk to her. She would have to get her ID back one way or the other, right? But, he could keep the handkerchief she probably has a lot of those. He smiled and pocketed his treasure, before running towards the clinic to return the ID.
What both of them doesn’t know was that Idda was totally faking. The ball missed her totally and there was no injury or concussion whatsoever. She just wanted to see what Taiyou would do and was already amused at Shoon’s reaction. She didn’t know they would take it so seriously. She peeked a little at Shoon before inwardly giggling to herself as they entered the clinic.
Meanwhile, in the clinic, Sarah was bored. She was done tweeting with her boyfriend Yuya who was currently in class. This clinical duty was boring and rough. She had done her homework already. She also had filed her nails (something she never really does), read a magazine and found out their favorite band was coming to town (gotta tell Yuya about that ) and gave some poor stupid soul Loperamide for a tummy ache due to drinking spoiled milk. AHHHH! If there wasn’t a good case today, she would go crazy.
She almost whooped in joy when she saw someone racing towards her, a girl in his arms. The victim looked oddly familiar. HOSHIT! That was Idda, her baby sister!
“Put her down,” she ordered as she pushed him towards the empty infirmary.”What happened?”
Sarah was intent as the boy started blabbering about the accident. Something about a ball flying, and a stupid Sophomore.
Meanwhile, Idda was writhing in pain - or at least they thought so. This situation even got better! Sarah was now part of her whole charade! She was trying to keep herself from laughing but it was so hard. So she tried to look in pain.
Sarah pushed the boy away and started to examine her sister. She was worried to death. Accidents like these could cause major blood arteries to pop causing aneurism and sometimes brain damage. But wait… something’s funny here. Why is she giggling?
Once alone, Idda started to giggle and blinked open an eye to reveal a shocked Sarah.
“I. am. Going. To. Kill. You.” Sarah said as the other girl started to stand and shushed the nurse
“SHHHHH!” Idda smiled.”I am only acting. I am okay.” She peeked through the curtains and found that not one, but two handsome boys were waiting albeit glaring at each other in the lobby. Her plan was working perfectly.
“Go figure,” Sarah came out of her murderous state and joined her sister in the peek. “So, who’s who?”
“The tall one is Ayukawa Taiyou, or as you all know him SUNSHINE. The other is Shoon, my classmate,” Idda explained.
“So you like walking hangers?” Sarah teased. “Shoon seems to like you a lot, though.”
“Meh,” Idda turned to her sister and made a face.”He’s okay I guess… Isn’t sunshine cute?”
“He’s not as cute as Yuya,” Sarah grinned as she avoided the swat that Idda aimed at her. “So, what’s the plan?”
Idda thought a moment, “I’m supposed to be Knocked out, adlib Sarah!”
Sarah grinned and nodded. “Lights, Camera, Action!” She put on her most serious face and went out of the infirmary. She pretended to note things down on her clipboard and turned to Shoon. “She had a mild concussion, she’s going to need to rest. Thanks for bringing her here though.”
Shoon nodded sadly and told her that he’d come back to check on her after class. That guy TAIYOU was really something else! What nerve does he have showing up here when he was the one who caused this? He didn’t even apologize… even if he did, what value would that be when she’s in pain? He was disgusted by this gigantic Neanderthal and simply glared at him.
Taiyou stood up as well and sighed. Mild concussion, huh? He left the room to avoid a confrontation with Shoon. He better think up of an apology soon. Flowers? Cake? How? He really was in a bind now! Why, universe? How can she make a good impression on her when he gave her a concussion? There was no way on the planet she would be dating him now!
Shoon was right to get mad at him. It was all his fault. He looked at the ID in his hand. Could this still be the key to meeting her?
… to be continued…
