Still recovering

New Year's Eve was a few days ago now, wasn't it? Yeah, I think it was. I saw 2005 change to 2006 watching fireworks on the beach from Brett's porch in San Diego. After that we did champagne shots (kind of fizzy, but fun, especially in tandem) and then ended up raiding the liquor cabinet and the next thing I know it's January 3rd and I'm lying by the pool on one of those inflatable rafts, except it went flat, wearing an Armani shirt (not my size) and my board shorts. My hair had a lot of glitter in it and someone had been drawing on my tattoo with a red Sharpie. I took a very long shower and went to bed, just got up and the world looks a lot cleaner than it did.

Omar's gone back home; some drama with his wife threatening to take away the kid? I hope everything's kosher up there. You could always bring Nicholas down here ... well ... maybe not.

One funny thing is that upon hearing he's signed with the Cubs minor leagues, Grissom called us, yelling, "I'M GOIN' TO DISNEYLAND!!!!" Brett decided to go with him so they are there now and should be back soon. I declined to go. I don't like Disney stuff much ... something that happened when I was a kid ... I won't get into it here. Anyway, I hope they're having a good time. There was some question on which hotel they decided on. Brett spent a lot of time reading reviews of the different chains and some of them were pretty hilarious such as "The maid staff shouldn't leave mops in the hallway -- kids could trip on them when they are running around alone in the dark!" Like kids should be running around, alone, in the dark, in a strange hotel. That's not the maids' responsibility. Some people should stay in Iowa Falls.
