Shopping with gnomes

Today started fairly uneventful: breakfast, housework, crossword puzzles were on my agenda. But then hubby decided to pick the boys up early, so that the menue plan for lunch had to be changed. Hubby got the easy part after lunch- he went napping with Flavius. I went upstairs with Cassian, who does not nap anymore. We watched some video clips then went back down to the kitchen, do bake the peanut cookies we had found on YT. Those boys never do cookies with their mother, so Cassian was very excited to be allowed to help. We had two minor flour explosions and a long discussion as why no egg went into the dough, but after tasting everything was okay. I was ready to form the cookies when grandson told me that he thought that I might have forgotten the baking powder. Dough went back into the bowl, baking powder was added, and the process of doing balls got started again. Meanwhile Flavius was up again and helped, too. Cookies went in the oven, now it was time to cut the chocolate. We barely had enough of it in the end- Milka chocolate is very tasty! Most of it ended up inside the boys. After baking I was in dire need of a rest, but hubby found that he was not able to find Hasi, which is essential for Cassian when it comes to sleeping. We dressed the boys, put them in the car and picked Hasi up. Then we went to Aldi. Aldi shopping is always bad on Saturday afternoons, but during Advent time it's insane. Plus the boys were not ready to stay close- they swarmed all over the shop. Hubby almost went insane- he seldomly went shopping with our offspring and almost never had to cope with such an ordeal. I swear that I had to hide to have a good laugh more than once. The boys now have new Christmmas sweaters and a Hot Wheel car each. I fell asleep for five minutes on the way back home. No wonder with all the ruckus! After a light snack for dinner hubby turned the TV on and served hot chocolate with whipped cream, tiny marshmallows and even tinier gingerbread men. I served myself a glass of punch- I think I've earned it!
Dear Mrs. wiseheart, I hope sending you my address did work out. If not, I will try again tomorrow. For today I am done. Too much excitement for an old lady...
