DPP: In Another Life

For today's topic, we're going to explore AUs and pilots.

Imagine Lee and Kara on Earth, in modern times, and the Twelve Colonies, the Cylons, or Galactica had never happened. What do they do on Earth? How do they meet? Is it the same familiar, angst-ridden to get their act together, or is it easier because, this time, Zak isn't in the way?

There's an excellent AU fic over here in which Kara and Lee meet during the Occupy Caprica City movement. It really captures their individual energies and life histories, and draws them together in a fantastic, sweet way. Totally recommended!

Seconded! I recced this on my personal journal because I loved it so much. It's such a wonderfully logical and immersive AU for them! Everyone should read it!

It seems to me the ultimate AU would be (for the pilots) if Lee met Kara before Zach. Would Lee have gone for Kara? Would they have had a relationship that lasted? Or would they be never meant to be like the lyrics of one of the songs from yesterdays DDP suggest? Lee would have been on Galactica when the attacks occurred but what about Kara?
