I need help

For a while now, at leat two years, I've been doing the BS/ACV method to wash my hair. For almost as long I've had my best friend telling me how bad it is for my hair. She recently graduated from beauty school where she was convinced that only the highest quality stuff is good for your hair. I kept telling her that if I noticed anything wrong with my hair I'd stop. I didn't. My hair was so wondeffully clean and full of body after washing it, I love it.
Last Friday another friend said that exposing your hair to highly acidic things can damage it. Evidently his roommate managed to do it. I gave him the same respone. But this time my hubby said that when I don't use the BS/ACV, there's less hair in the drain. I'll use Burt's Bees in a pinch, but it doesn't leave my hair feeling as clean.
Now, my question. What can I use instead? I have thin, fine, straight hair that felt wonderful after washing it. But I would shed an awful lot of hair. Is there anything that might clean as well and rinse as cleanly? I like being no 'poo, but I don't know what else is out there. My friend keeps twlling me to try Yes To Carrots. But I know nothing about it. Does anyone have any suggestions? And water only does not work for me. I need something to clean my hair at least every three days as I do now. TIA!
