no 'poo on 'pits
holy frig!
so, i have a bottle of pretty dern concentrated baking soda solution in the shower for situations in which i need to use more baking soda solution than i mixed up before jumping in the shower. with the ultra concentrated solution, i can just either use that (but that makes ms. scalpy burn, so that's probably no good) or i can squirt some in my normal bottle and fill that up the rest of the way with water to dilute it to normal concentration.
so.. this concentrated solution is about 4 tablespoons of BS in 8 oz of water. maybe a little less concentrated than that, but it precipitates pretty quickly anyway. so... for a while, my pits would still smell after scrubbing with kiss my face bodywash. (it's got SLS, so i'm using up what i have and moving on to something else) it really annoyed me (i do admit, i'll forget to use my kiss my face liquid rock roll-on unstinkifier for a few days, so my natural stink will permeate my skin. it's quite nasty how one can get when they're unemployed. heh, i feel weird admitting this.) anyway, you'd think a shower and pit scrub would get rid of that. but it didn't. (or at least my nose is super sensitive. it always had been) so the other day, i decided... "if i'm doing no'poo on my scalp, i think i'm going to try it on my pits too." so i shook the bottle to get it all mixed up, squirted some on my fingertips (maybe a tsp or 2) and rubbed and scrubbed my pitties then rined well. (it even got slick like babyslime explains in her entry) i have hippie pits, and i was even able to feel a difference in the pit hair too. much more curly.
ohmygosh! that got rid of all the stink! i frikkin love baking soda! i'll have to look up ph balance for armpits. i don't know if i should splash some of my apple cider vinegar/lemon juice solution on afterwards or if the liquid rock is acidic enough to reset my ph. i'll have to get some ph testing strips. i wonder if those are available to the general public. maybe ebay.
i actually forgot to put on deoderant yesterday, and i seriously didn't smell any pit-ness that night. i am amazed.
