I know you can use it as an underarm deoderant, so it makes sense that scrubbing with it neutralises odours on the body (as well as anywhere else in your home/clothing).

You can also make a bs paste and use it as a facial scrub, though you should rinse very, very thoroughly afterwards. It makes your skin feel lovely.

I've noticed I also feel not so clean even after I scrub the heck out of my pits. I don't know if I have a really sensitive nose also or if I'm really paranoid but I always feel like my pits smell. I ask my mom and sister to smell me all the time I'm so paranoid. I'm going to have to try the no poo pit cream.

Do you think this would be safe to do for the unhippy pits?

Sometimes BS burns the side of my head, like behind my ears (although that might just be because of some dry skin), and my armpits are very sensetive to certain deo's and even the fancy little protection strip on razors (which all started after rubbing natural orange extract/essential oil in them a couple years ago resulting in serious burning).

I'd love to do this too though, because I use a sugar scrub for my body which is far too harsh for the pits, I usually don't wash them (gross, I know). I bet it would even work as a shave gel of sorts..

hmmm. in your situation, i'd start with the regular no 'poo concentration and see if that does anything. if it burns or still smells.

i'm sure it'll work for shaved pits. maybe do the BS scrub before the shave? i think that'd be your best bet. it'll sure reduce the chance of stinging. do you gurrently use shave gel? i think it's too ouchy to use as your shave gel. eek!

Oh, don't use it shortly after shaving - just like using deoderants after shaving, it'll sting. Beforehand should be fine.

I use some Lime Pie JASEN stuff to shave my pits/legs now, which is one of the few things that doesn't irritate my armpits. But I'm definately going to try this out tonight when I shower and shave.

I use my acv rinse on my face and armpits instead of soap, works great. White vinegar is also good for getting rid of sweat stains on clothing, by the way...
Your armpits will have the same pH as the rest of your body.

i was just afraid that the baking soda would mess up my pH. you know. how those deoderant commercials say "ph balanced" and stuff.

I'm never sure if they mean pH neutral, or if they mean normal body pH.

I've been using BS and coconut oil as a deodorant. Works GREAT....

But, like someone mentioned above..... Right after I shave, it STINGS! I have to remember to wait til a while later. Thankfully, I sweat quite minimally.
