SYTYCD Season 9: Top 20 (Again)
Finally getting around to writing this (wanted to get it done before the episode tonight..)
Another episode that I thought was pretty good. They had a LOT to do this ep - all of the dances, the bottom 3, and a dance from the people in Step Up: Revolution.
Group Routine - was pretty cool - I was very surprised it was Tab/Nap.
Lindsay/Cole (Hip-Hop): Done by Christopher Scott. I don't think there was that much to it but upon further viewings it kind of grows on you. It was okay - but maybe not memorable enough.
Amelia/Will (Contemp): A nice flowy Sonya piece. Loved the bit with Will on the ground trying to hold onto Amelia's leg. You kind of forget that Will is so tall. Still one of my favorite couples so far.
Amber/Nick (Tango): I guess this was good - I thought she did better than him but I just am not a fan of his anyway.
Audrey/Matthew (Jazz): Another Sonya piece but it was more to show of their strengths I think. She did really well I thought.
Janelle/Dareian (Hip-Hop): Another Chris Scott routine. It was probably really cheesy and probably not very hard - though it could be they just made it look easy. I liked him a lot in it. It was cute though.
Janaya/Brandon (Broadway): I thought there were elements that were kind of cool - the part where she flips over him was neat. But wasn't wowed by it.
Eliana/Cyrus (Jive): If I didn't know any better I would have thought she may have been ballroom - she did really well. I was watching him a lot and he did ok but you could tell he wasn't comfortable. Not a fan of the judging either. It's like they get on other dancers for this and that but with Cyrus it's like - aww you are really great even if you did suck at the routine.
Alexa/Daniel (Contemp): I feel bad that they just have been stuck with the blah routines. Wasn't a fan last week and this week it just seemed so boring. I agree that they just didn't really connect.
Tiffany/George (FoxTrot): So I've seen a few FoxTrots that have been okay but they are usually boring so no one really likes getting them. But I smiled the entire time I was watching this one. It was flowy and they both looked like it was so easy for them. Another couple that I really like.
Witney/Chehon (Bollywood): Another Bollywood routine - it did look hard and I think she did really well - I was probably watching her more than him.

They did the Step Up dance and Twitch and Phillip!!! and Kathryn were there. I may have to watch the movie - don't know if I would see it in theaters though.

Alexa (I was very happy they kept Witney instead of Alexa - I guess they realized they can't get much more out of her)
Daniel (just shows you can be a great dancer and just not make it on the show)
