“Fairy in the forest” is a large watercolour painting done over quite a while. I’ve taken off a month or two from commissions because basically the only personal work I’ve done for a year has been sketches for sketchfest, and my health has been pretty bad for the past couple of years. Garkun is the fifth painting in a series of character portraits (Includes  Vik, Anahit, Lada & Zabava). He’s a forest boy, having seen many horrors of war, he’s taken to scavenging the forest and battlefields, always followed by a shadowy forest spirit).

In most ways, I’m not an organised artist.

Like many artists, I tend to drool over studio set ups. I even have a board where I collect beautiful inspiring images over at Pinterest. Sadly, my painting and desk area come nowhere close to any of these.

A few weeks ago, a friend approached me about doing a quick commission for a mutual friend’s birthday present. They all do RPG gaming, and Solana’s character is a barbarian named Brhea.
