Yesterday was the Better War Through Archery event in Sternfeld (Indianapolis) Warders Brigid and Anton were not expecting the large turnout we had for the rapier melee pre-season war practice.
A little while back, I checked my archive to see that the first day I fenced SCA-style was September 16th of last year, which means that I have now been in/with the SCA and fencing awesome-style for one whole year

Tomorrow morning I galavant off to my first SCA week-long war -- and it's The Big One(TM). This will also take me off the grid, so don't expect to hear from me between today and Aug. 11th. I've just gotten word that my main gauche is in the mail. It may or may not arrive in time to accompany me to Three Saints, but by this time next week, I will have one of these in my possession:

Actually, I *do* have an icon for SCAdian/Fencing-ness. Courtesy of wadam's shoot at Dante's Inferno. The sword is sadly not mine, but that of the regional marshal.
So, after repeated insistence from lapis_lorelei, I've checked my times and such for Gulf War, one of the BIG BIG yearly SCA events. Joy upon joys, for it falls directly during Ivy Tech's Spring Break! That means I just have to get the time off from Beartopia and re-schedule my tango classes and I'll be good to go. It doesn't even conflict with ICFA. This
