More snow, and chilly weather

Yep, winter is definitely here, and making up for lost time.

Overnight Friday into early Saturday morning, it was -2 or -3 degrees. I know Youngstown set a record with -7. Brrrr! That's Fahrenheit, to be clear. More snow fell today, looks like a couple of inches, and more is expected tomorrow. Ick.

I've been able to hunker down at home but eventually I'll have to brave this garbage to get prescriptions because major improvements are not looking likely over the next week. Double ick.

On the other hand, I finished a book!

2. The Six Wives of Henry VIII, by Alison Weir. This book has been on my want-to-read list for some time, and it did not disappoint. It was 571 pages, not counting the bibliography, index and family tree charts, but it was a fast 571 pages. Indeed, I'm trying to recall the last time I sailed through 500+ pages so quickly, it was hard to put down. The topic of the book is obvious from the title, but Weir goes into each woman's personality and the politics surrounding their marriage (and in some cases the ending of that marriage). It also clears up many misconceptions people may have on this colorful and pivotal time in history. I'm eager to check out more of her books. They are full of information but easy to follow and digest. I recommend it to anyone interested in history.

Currently reading: All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr. This is another that's been on my want-to-read list for some time.
