Over the weekend, I noticed the leaves of some trees were just starting to turn colour, with a few branches tipped with oranges and reds. This morning, I just caught my first TV commercial for winter tires. Saturday morning was normal market day, groceries shopping and the like. In the afternoon we took the train to Derby to catch the anime movie, Tales from Earthsea. Spent some time walking around Derby and I must say it's one of the least navigable city (by foot) that I've been too... I wasn't particularly excited by 'The Banquet'. It was a bit of a let down. Not a bad movie, but a little draggy and wasn't as good as I had expected/hoped. This one, though, I am more optimistic about. Andy and I went to watch 'Memoirs of a Geisha' yesterday. I really liked the book and was quite eager to watch this film version, especially with the impressive cast. I enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed the movie. Full of Zhang Yimou's signature excesses, rather overwhelming on the visual and audio even. But if one watches it for the beauty of each moment and movements, and not too hung up about the getting the plot moving, it's more enjoyable. Besides:
