I know I haven't been posting much, so I just thought I'd let my flist know that I'm still around. There's just been a lot of real life stuff going on, and a few other sites have caught my attention--*cough*Pintrest*cough*.

I do have some good news--I have a job! I start later on this month.

Had to work today, so I didn't get to go out and do anything fun. :-( Guess it's just as well, 'cause it's a little cloudy and drizzly out. Wow, can't believe it's September already.

I had to work again, like last year (meh).  There wasn't much work to do, however, so I got off early, which gave me plenty of time to get ready to go out to see Public Enemies (very good!) and watch the fireworks afterwards. Plus, there was the Twilight Zone marathon on SciFi. Good times.

In two days, it'll be Labor Day, which is, like, the unofficial end of summer. I'm already looking ahead to fall; it may be my favorite time of year. Much cooler weather, for one thing.

BTW--I bought my MP3 player today. I'd decided on a Sansa Fuze. Once I have it figured out, I'll start downloading all my favorite songs and have it all set to bring ( Read more... )

 My brother and I finally saw The Dark Knight last night(we wanted to wait 'til the crowd died down a little). And, yeah, it was well worth all the hype--it was awesome! Heath Ledger was amazing....but , how sad it is that he's not here to see how great he was.

 I'm watching the news right now, and a tropical storm warning is in effect for the southeastern U.S. It's likely to become a hurricane, from what I hear. I get scared during hurricane season, living so near the coast, especially when I think of the damage that so many other storms had done in other states. This past Fourth of July weekend was a fun and very busy one this year. I had to work on the Fourth, so I didn't get to go to any cookouts or anything, but that evening my brother and I went to see Wanted (pretty good, some funny moments--more violent than I expected, though) and saw fireworks. So glad to have today off, after the weekend I'd had. Summer is always the busiest time of year at my job; so many people on vacation, so much work to do....makes me appreciate my days off even more.

 Can't believe it's almost summer. It certainly felt like it today; it was pretty hot outside. I don't know what I'll be doing this summer. My family did plan to attend a reunion, but it was cancelled. Oh, well--I could always hang out with my friends. My church singles group has been making a lot of plans for outings.
