[Friday]

AWESOME.

I've been at the airport for four hours now, and our plane hasn't even arrived.  The delay is such that the plane for the next flight to Minneapolis has arrived, and they're letting everyone on the 4:50 flight have it, and keeping us 2:30 people waiting for the next  plane.  We're already screwed over, might as well keep us that ( Read more... )

He says that he heard Detroit is so hosed that they're telling people they won't be able to fly there until Sunday. So Friday, when I was heading to campus (in the storm) to take a final, I ended up waiting for the bus with a bunch of international students who were freaking out about the storm, because the Detroit airport was shutting down, and the campus closes the dorms, and they were terrified they would have nowhere to go. People were actually discussing HIRING A CAB to DRIVE them through the storm to Chicago ( ... )

19 degrees is tropical compared to -33! Actually, once you get below -10 or so, it all feels pretty similar to me. I can immediately feel my lungs seize up slightly when I go out in it, though, from the exercise-induced asthma. And it's the wind that's really killer.

The Niece adorably played Apples to Apples with us tonight. You'd have loved it!

Gotta love those early morning cuddles from your fan club. :-) DD does that, though I'd like her to change her own nappy before crawling into bed.

oh, you sound so happy! I can picture it, and I'm glad you finally got to your mom's place. Merry, Merry Christmas. You won't get your package until you get back to KY, but you should get it soon. I got mine today, and your note made me cry...in a good way. *hugs*

Merry Christmas back! I had that box sitting in my living room for about two months, staring at me, admonishing me for my procrastination such that I would turn away in shame and thus continue not-shipping it. I even had the packing paper in it and everything!

I hope your trip to Mexico is incredible and peaceful and warm. Perhaps you could read a trashy romance novel on my behalf *g*
