A "campus open today" notice from UW-Madison said students who feel unsafe about trying to get to class should contact their professors or teaching assistants about making up class time.
That is SUCH BULLSHIT. The university doesn't want to call off classes, so it puts it on all the individual profs and TAs, and then wants us to "make up class time" for those who don't come in. We can't do anything vital in class because those who didn't come will miss it, but we don't want to waste the time of those who hauled their asses all the way in. It's such a chickenshit move by the university.
Government employees have been sent home. The mall is closed. We are getting a goddamn foot of snow today. I really hope it doesn't take the death or injury of someone trying to make it to school to wake up the Chancellor.
