Well, there's been a change of plans. They wouldn't let me stay in Frosty's hospital room overnight because she has a roommate and there are privacy protection issues or some lame thing like that. Whatever. So, I was given a choice of either sleeping on a couch in the waiting room or going home. I decided to go home, but only because Frosty was much more alert than she had been earlier in the evening and was beginning to be in less pain. She was aware enough, at least, to be able to call the nurse if she had trouble and aware enough to push the button that will give her pain meds. So, although I'm not entirely comfortable with leaving her there alone (Like I said, I don't trust hospitals.), I really had no other choice. And maybe this way I can get some sleep. Maybe. It's funny. I was really tired when I wrote my last post, but now I'm wide awake. It was probably the drive that did it to me. Driving always wakes me up. Which is probably a good thing. Falling asleep while driving has been known to be hazardous to your health. ;)
And, on my way home, I stopped at Walmart and bought myself a new MP3 CD player, since mine was stolen a couple of weeks ago and I'm tired of having no music in my car. I'd had some money put aside to spend at fiddle camp, but since we're not going now because of Frosty's surgery, I figured that there wasn't much harm in spending a bit of that money on a good MP3 CD player. I was surprised how much they'd gone down in price, actually. I got a nice Sony one for $45. The first one I ever bought cost significantly more than that, and that was only about four or five years ago. Count on techy gadgets to plunge in price in a short stretch of time, eh? :)
Also on my way home, I was treated to a rather pretty electrical storm. All lightning and wind. No rain. Which, of course, means that there'll be new fires in the area tomorrow. Yippee. Hey,
multiclassgeek! How 'bout sending some of that rain over here...? :)
And with that, I shall find something to eat and perhaps coax myself to sleep...
