Well, chaos held dominion over the last week.
1. Played four shows. Starting with Pehrspace concluding with Echo Curio and between these was the Smell and Old Baldy. I wore a flag on my chest, dressed in trashbags, rode of Chris Payne's back while playing guitar. Lots of adlibbing of songs ensued, some of which got me chewed out at the end of the Echo Curio show for making jokes about environmentalism. Kyle Mabson has dubbed that particular performance my best set ever, which should be a firm indication that it was quite ridiculous. Guys that owned the gallery were kinda not siked about me being drunk and in my underwear.

It’s a split between Fuck You and Gypsy Tears. Back in like 2005 in good old Riverside. Erin Allen from Child P, American Gil and I had a Chicano Rock band. There was some disagreement over the direction the band would take. American Gil wanted to take it in more of a Santana direction, while I really wanted more of a meth-head rock sound. This tape is the awesome document of our struggles. I would chug Tapatio and sing songs about lowrider muscles, the Raiders and, of course, the ubiquitous taco break. Vocals are wrapped up in some kind of reverb jihad and the keys boards are skuzzy as hell. So yeah, if one of the other things I did this week didn’t offend you, maybe this will.
Availabe from Barf Records.

3. I have an upcoming show on Friday, once again at Echo Curio, with some of the flyest compatriots I have; Voice on Tape and Clark 8 plus a couple more. Now I feel like a lot of people have seen Voice on Tape and have realized Lou has hypnotic powers, but many haven’t seen Clark 8 - and you really should. I know in some circles it isn’t cool to like pop punk or Blink 182, but serio holmes Clark 8 brings it in a way that is vaguely Blink 182, in the same way that Blink 182 is vaguely African sounding. But mostly you must admire his pop-craft. You also get Pat Regan, who I played with at the Smell the other night. Bring your friends.

5. I have a record release planned for November 9th at a house show in South LA, should be really fun. I’m getting all the logistics taken care of. Heart of Grime will be out on Shrimper Novermber 6th.
http://www.midheaven.com/artists/thill.john.html …Logistics, not my strong suit, but I will leave you now so I can go attempt to manage those things. Sometimes I wish that for one hour out of each day I could be Chris Payne, he’s the master of logistics.
