I've been on Reclipsen for a while now and have responded really well with it.

As for the symptoms you've had, I've had three of them even prior to the pill. Maybe it just seems like it's caused by the pill since you've been on it for so long? I don't know about the chilblains, though it could be because of the bad circulation. My foot cramps were apparently inherited from my father and is fixed by eating bananas and staying super hydrated.

Do you drink a lot of caffeine? I notice my circulation goes even more down the tubes when I drink it. The sex drive thing... yeah, that's been a problem for me too. And it sucks because I had a practically non-existent one prior to the pill and now it's pretty much completely gone, leading to relationship trouble. :( I related really well to your entry about sexuality, thinking I was asexual growing up, getting confused and then at some point settling on pansexual.

I think I did hear about Yaz being weird... I just went to the dr yesterday and she echoed my previous doctor in saying that Reclipsen is a really good pill and that I should stick with it.

You could also maybe get an implant, I've heard really good things about it. It's a matchstick sized implant in your arm that lasts a crazy long time and doesn't appear to have the same side effects as the pill. It's also no fuss once it's healed. I've heard horror stories about the IUD, so I personally wouldn't touch that...

up until now i discredited Yaz with being the cause of my poor circulation and related problems because poor circulation runs in my family too, but my mom said she didn't have it (or at least, no where near as bad as i do) when she was my age.... and i'd never suffered from it prior to taking the pill, but then again Vegas' weather probably helped with that. plus i've been on the pill for so long, it's hard to tell when things start happening in relation to other things...

now, however, i feel like even if my family does have a history of it, i'm 27 dammit! and was even younger when i went through the worst of the symptoms i listed. i feel like even if it runs in my family, Yaz has made it worse or has made it surface earlier than it otherwise would have. :/ does that make sense...? maybe it's similar for you.

i hardly ever drink stuff with caffeine in it, but i must admit to not eating enough bananas. damn potassium deficiency.

re: a non-existent sex drive, after looking into asexuality briefly as a teen and finding that the definitions didn't suit me 100% i gave up on it, but recently i've looked into it again and have found so much more information than was available years ago. have you heard of demisexuality or gray-asexuality? maybe the definitions of those terms will sound familiar to you like they do for me. check out these links:

i now identify as a demi-pansexual. :) but still... i'm holding out hope that getting off Yaz will improve my sex drive at least a little. :/ i feel sorry for my partner...

i'll look into Reclipsen and implants, thanks. :) it's good to go into the doctor's office prepared and education, unlike going in totally ignorant like i did when i was 17/18...
