...food allergy?

Feb 28, 2008 20:51

i have never been allergic to any food i`ve eaten that i`ve known of... until now? this might get kind of long-winded, but either i jinxed myself last night when i told my mom on the phone that my feet had been feeling the best they`ve felt since this whole ordeal started, OR i indeed have a food allergy. or intolerance?

first of all, this week my feet have been feeling the best they`ve felt since this whole ordeal started. i`ve been able to walk using my entire foot, as normal, rather than constantly trying to avoid or lessen the usage of the ball of my feet, i`ve been able to stand for longer than ever, etc. the swelling has even gone down so that my toes now look like granny toes with lots of wrinkles and such from my skin being stretched for so long while swollen. i`ll spare you a more detailed description of the state of my feet. D;

however, last night after eating a cup of soup my hands got red (this has been happening for a while too btw, but i hadnt connected it to my feet until recently) and when i got up this morning my toes were red and somewhat swollen again. D; not full-blown swollen, but enough to set sirens off in my head.

now, jumping back to over a week ago when i was still visiting the hospital and my leg was wrapped, i had eaten a cup of soup (a different type than the one i ate last night, but the same brand and such) and shortly afterwards i felt some discomfort with my feet. i vaguely made the connection that it may have been the soup somehow someway i guess since last night i intentionally decided to try a different type of soup than the one i had eaten that day a week+ ago.

now, jumping back to a month and a half ago to around the time this whole ordeal started, i believe that around that time is when i first discovered these cups of soup in the 100yen store (like a 1$ store in America) up the street and since they were cheap and good i started eating them a lot.

.....it`s like pieces of a non-existent puzzle are coming together.....

whatever it is in these cups of soup that i am allergic to effects my hands and my feet the worst, causing them to be overly sensitive to heat and they swell and hurt like mad.... but the symptoms and even the cause still match those listed on a site about Chilblains that i linked to a while back. :/ so even though pieces seem to be falling into place, i`m still confused... are the symptoms i`ve been having a common reaction to a food allergy or is this not really a food allergy, just something in the soup compounding something else?

before anyone suggests it, NO I WILL NOT GO SEE A DOCTOR AGAIN. if this is indeed a food allergy, then there is nothing the doctors can do for me, other than to do blood work or whatever to determine the exact thing i`m allergic to. i`d much rather have that done in America where i can understand everything rather than here. if it`s not a food allergy then meh. atleast i know that this soup is off limits now and you can be certain that i wont touch it again. in fact, i`m going to try to translate and compare the food labels to find out what`s in them that i possibly have never eaten before. but no hospitals. NO. damn hospitals.

anyway, to end this entry, i`ve been drinking a lot of water today hoping that that would get whatever it is i`m having a reaction to out of my system and the swelling has gone back down to close to what it was earlier this week. my feet should SHOULD BETTER be fine now.

i feel like seeing another movie this weekend, although i shouldnt waste the money on it right now. D:
