OMG Comic Con is fucking epic. I'm not sure I can do justice to just how big it is with mere words.
I'm not sure I can even describe how much free stuff I got today! So much awesome, so little time.
First of all we caught the shuttle to go an pick up our badges.
Waiting for the shuttle.
On the shuttle.
Picked up the badges, got our Con guides and souvenir books and *ginormous* tote bags. Seriously, they are as deep as a poster width. Monster. They have different things on the side. Hayley got a Big Bang Theory one which made her happy. I got a Human Traffic one which just made me smile because Mark Valley is in it.
Then to Comic Con!
First glimpse of the Convention Centre
Massive Scot Pilgrim thing on the side of the Hilton
There was also a Scott Pilgrim Experience on the other side of the road from the Centre. More on that later
The Experience. Complete with stuff.
First of all in to the Exhibition Hall. And one of the first things I am confronted with?
Iron Man.
I found Pete's Teddy!
And some Iron Man prop replicas. So shiny!
After wandering around many stalls and getting many free shit (and buying a Captain America tshirt for the making of me happy) we escaped into the Gaslamp Quarter for lunch
The road.
On the way back we passed a Dragon Age II thing but the queue was huge so we just took a picture of the dragon.
And got a transfer tattoo put on my arm. Then it was on to the Scott Pilgrim experience. Queued for ages for this. Got a little sunburnt (did not anticipate queueing outside today, so had no suncream on. Silly Michelle.) but was *totally* worth it!
First of all we got a bag of stuff from the stuff stall that included a free tshirt. In the queue we got given a lots of free shit from various people, including perky jerky (jerky with added caffeine), a tshirt for a movie called Skyline, and a helpful eyeshade. Also got Dextered with a transfer tattoo on my cheek. Finally got inside.
Got another free tshirt, but personalised in as much as you could choose one of about 6 colours and then they screen printed your choice of one of 12 designs on it.
Then there was this awesome thing were they filmed you doing something for 7 seconds then turned it into a flick book. Me and Hayley had a fight in ours. It rocked.
Then got autographs from Mark Webber
and Alison Pill.
More Scott Pilgrimmy pics:
After that we went back inside and wandered around the Exhibition Hall for a bit longer.
I forget what this is, but it was cool and steampunky
Shit My Dad Says Banner
Big Bang Theory Banner
I bought a messenger bag that says "Intellectual Freedom Fighter" on it which was awesome. It was from the guys at the unshelved booth - a webcomic about a library. Also bought little Cap and Tony figures. Cos they were cute.
Then we went to queue up to get into Hall H. Cos there was *no* way I was missing the Scott Pilgrim panel.
The shade I was talking about earlier.
Got in halfway through The Expendables panel. Was pretty damn cool. Sylvester Stallone is *funny*. And The Expendables looks like it might just be the Action Movie of Action Movies. Pretty fucking epic.
And then. SCOTT PILGRIM!!! Awesome panel. Just too too awesome.
Edgar!
Michael Cera wore a Captain America costume. IDEK.
Panelness of awesome:
Fantastic clips of the film. At the beginning of the panel buttons were given out. At the end of the panel, Edgar announced that anyone with the 1up badge could go to a screening of the film right then and there! We did not have to 1up badge. That was the row in front of us. Was saved from too much sadness by the realisation of the fact that Edgar Wright was about to lead people through the streets of San Diego like the Pied Piper.
On the way back to the shuttle we saw this sign:
I love Comic Con
This is all of the stuff I got today:
The best bit? The only things on that bed I paid for were the Cap Tshirt, the Cap n Tony figures, the Torchwood Comics and the messenger bag.
(We went to TGI Friday's for dinner)
And now I must sleep as I woke up at 5.30 am and now its 12.30am. Gnight.
ETA: This is a mark of how tired I was yesterday. I forgot to add that on our second trip to the Exhibition Hall we swung back by BBC America stand, just as they were giving out Look Around You Lab Coats! Which we then got signed by Peter Serafinowicz and Robert Popper. IT FREAKING ROCKS DUDE!!
