Go me. My proposal was approved at work and we are hiring a paid front desk staff. Unfortunately my thunder is being stolen and I have very little control over my own staff: training, orientation....I've been told what I must do, even though I had already planned to do said things, so instead of getting credit for organizing this huge step, I look ( Read more... )

So as you all know, my plan for last week was to make it go as smoothly as possible, so everyone would understand how much I do, and see that I am very capable of managing the museum. so, i go to the ex. director's office and basically he got some figures today from our 7 partner museums and they relate to the gift shops in each of the museums. his main focus is on the $/visitor, which of course i have been working on like crazy and increased $.27 over the last year which essentially ~ $12,000 in gross profit. now, i understand ( Read more... )

The Executive Director wants to meet with me about my "situation" in a few minutes. Anybody know what I did?

so i can be 2 people, and hell i can even be three people, but i think 4 is pushing it. i can't be myself, brenda because she quit, barbara because she's in ireland, AND the front desk greeter. looks like i'll be 3.5 at least for the next week. oy.

but have decided that a page of grumping is not in anybody's best interest.

So instead I'll just say that I'll be having cocoa and doughnuts with Bill Nye the Science Guy this afternoon so :-P
