It's all
or_mabinogi's fault. This started as a comment, and it sort of grew and mutated from comments I've made elsewhere, with something vaguely resembling editing, but with no beta. Still the World's Shortest Breadbox Edition though, which tends to happen when you have zero interest in actually watching the show.
SGU: [shit blows up]
TPTB: It's dark! Darkity dark dark!
AUDIENCE: Did someone forget to pay the electricity bill?
SGU: [shaky cam]
TPTB: We're edgy!
AUDIENCE: We're nauseous. Pass the meclizine. And the remote control.
TPTB: Bad fan, bad, bad! You are not a true fan of Stargate if you don't watch every show that has a vague connection to the original.
NIALLA: [is distracted by the slash rolling off the screen in NCIS:LA] What, did you say something?
TPTB: Pay attention to us! We're media whores! You couldn't throw a rock online Friday night without seeing one of our ads. Didn't you see the eleventy billion interviews with the entire cast? There was probably even one with craft services. We'll do interviews with the gaffers if it'll get us in TV Guide.
NIALLA: Face it... I've left you for better slash shows.
Oh, and I found a pic I was going to link to yesterday but didn't get a chance. It's a high res promo shot from an upcoming NCIS episode, but shows only characters, no spoilers. I call it "
Eye Fucking in Aisle 1 (we need a mop to clean up fangirl drool)". It's very bunk worthy if you're of the Gibbs/DiNozzo persuasion. So, um... I'll be in my bunk.
ETA: First round of
ratings are in for SGU. It edged out Dollhouse, but that's not really saying much since that was apparently at a show run low. SGU had 2.35 million viewers, 1.7 HH, but both numbers will go up as DVR numbers are factored in. The premiere of Warehouse 13 had 4.4 million viewers according to
Solutions, with over 1 million of those coming from DVR numbers. Considering the $1 million per episode price tag and the ads on ever frickin' site I visited yesterday, I'd say it's a disappointing number for Skiffy, though they are spinning their little hearts out. DVR numbers may completely change things, but it does seem like they're releasing the numbers early as sort of a preemptive strike over them not being spectacular, but at least it beat one network show.
