I am in my new house! And thanks to a generous and anonymous neighbor with an unsecured wireless, I have internet! It is an absolute sea of chaos here, with boxes everywhere and barely enough room to turn around, and I've had to leave some boxes on the back deck despite the heavy fog rolling in. New entry at Somewhere in the Middle, Moving On and On and On, on packing to move and finding evidence of the me I used to be as I sort through old photographs.

Now I should probably go blow my nose (stupid cold!) and pack another box. *sigh*

I have never been a very good list maker, but I think it might help if I did it, so:

• talk to Trivan and Mike about movers
  
• hire movers to come September 14th to move the furniture and heavy boxes - in progress
  
• call Comcast and see if they'll give me a better deal than DishTV

I came down with the cold at 36,000 feet over Oklahoma. Or possibly New Mexico. Anyway, it was on the plane on the way home from Nashville on Tuesday when I felt that heat in my sinuses and rawness in my throat that heralded the onset of something worse than allergies. In other news, I've packed much less than I should have today. But I got some great writing done.

In the last three days I've gotten rid of ten boxes of books: I sold half of them and got $60 in hard cash, which I promptly spent on really good sushi. I anticipate at least another ten boxes of books will go. I also sent thirteen bags of clothing and household things to the charity shop, and anticipate sending another thirteen or so. I'm moving! OMG! OMG I'm moving to a a duplex in Pacifica, CA, on the coast, BY THE OCEAN! A block and a half from the ocean! You can hear the waves! You can smell the sea! There is a fresh sea breeze (and, uh, a fair amount of fog, but there are also gorgeous sunny days.) There is a pier and a PUBLIC BEACH a couple of blocks from my new place!
