Beer Cheer 18: Samichlaus

Apr 24, 2009 23:21

When I first tasted this brew, I told a friend that it was like licking heaven. Indeed, the rare "Samichlaus" beer is instantly a favorite of mine. Despite the hearty 14% content, it is quite easy on the tongue and nose. Introducing a mildly salty, nutty scent, the fine beer initiates with an exceptionally complex mixture of salt, licorice, ripe plum, and even blueberry. The sensation is never biting nor harsh, yet soothes as if some melody of a past world where life was slower. With its forest-filled scent and smoothly mild taste, Samichlaus is entirely a legendary beer. If all the beer in the world were utterly eradicated, with only Samichlaus left, I'd be quite satisfied. It is a fantastic beer that deserves utmost enjoyment. Cheers for a damn good brew!
