as some of you know, one of my last seminars at school was "Safety & Security in Design". for that class, we did independent research.
my research, over the course of the class, went from being about the larger landscape, to the human being in the urban landscape. my research ended up being a 29 page powerpoint document that i turned into a PDF.
in it are some good tips on what to do in cases of emergency, especially when away from home. most safety stuff focuses on preparing one's house -- but if you are caught on a subway in the middle of downtown after a bombing, this may help you.

* this research was begun (and more can always be done) at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, under the direction of Paola Anotelli, a curator at MoMA. the research will be hosted at MoMA.org sometime in October, as was part of support for the show "SAFE - Design Takes on Risk".
