another thank you & an update
hi everyone,
first off, i wanted to thank everyone who sent donations for my sister and her family. it is deeply appreciated.
i have transferred the money to my bank account, and have taken down the link to my paypal account because i really want to get the money to her ASAP.
my mother says that things for Donna are looking up, and that she's really throwing herself into doing all she can to manage the crisis, not just for her family, but for others too.
she's a teacher and this week will be meeting with the TX School Board to discuss with them how they can utilize her and other teachers from LA to help with the over flow of NOLA kids into the TX school system. also, she is recommending to them that they could use her as a liason between parents, TX teachers, and NOLA kids. i'm really proud of her.
as a US Naval Veteran, the Navy has been helping immensely. they have apparently found an apartment for her in a brand new building, and she and my nephew have a home that is theirs again.
PayPal says that it takes 3-4 days for money to clear into my account, so i am going to write the cheque today, and post date it for Monday so that there's a chance for everything to clear.
i am so moved that so many people i know have been willing to help my family. my appreciation goes deeper than words can express.
