A Trailer for a movie filmed in Brighton Beach popped up on Apples Movie Trailer Page. Check out Two Lovers. I watched the trailer and nearly every major spot was instantly recognizable to me. I love that. I love that about New York! Especially when things are filmed on street corners where I grew up and in front of places I've eaten.

So apparently I was the last to know Pioneer Theater closed down on the 31st. I can't act like I'm so distraught it's gone, cause I probably could've supported them more had I known they were getting priced out. It doesn't get nearly enough press, and you just can't see the films they show anywhere else! They really procure some absolute gems of Asian cinema. Tribeca disappointed me, but these guys won't! The AMC Magic Johnson Theater at 124th and Frederick Douglass Blvd. is hosting Summer Movie Camp. Starting June 25th, every Wednesday morning at 10:00, movies are only $1.00. The movies are all kid friendly, and the admissions go to charity also. (Note: there's sound on the page, for those of you with speakers at work.)

Are there any good video rental stores in Washington Heights or uptown? I am looking for somewhere that has a good foreign, art, cult and old film sections. Or somewhere where at these sections exist. I am looking for somewhere preferably not Blockbuster.
