All that's in my head
Is in your hands
Watch the sunlight taking over
Over, take me over
Today was a much, much better day than yesterday was. Not that it would take much.
I actually got stuff done on some projects. I contacted disability services asking them for referral to testing for dyslexia and discalcula because it's been on my mind lately and goes with my New Years Resolutions, which it is March and I am still following as best I can. (Do something each day to improve spirit, soul, and body.)
I finally got around to making a PC bank account, which is lovely considering the credit union I currently bank with has raised its fees. As soon as I pay off the loan I have with them, I'm killing the account. I have heard so many good things about PC banking, I hope it lives up to the glowing reports. I had a wonderful lunch at The Cave with my Grandma and discussed why Phantom of the Opera is a choice between two extremes of crappy love. I played her All I Ask of You which I hate for much of its content. What a wimpy love song. "Seriously, all I really want is to follow you around, and I totally want freedom, by which I mean you have to be glued to my hip - Oh, and promise me you're not lying because I'm not totally sure. And yeah, talk to me about summer. 'Cause it's cool, and you're too shallow to talk art or music or anything." And I played her Point of No Return which is a moving and exciting lust song, but not very realistic for a relationship either. But hey, I'd rather have consuming flames than following someone around like a puppy. It sure is fun to sing though. =) I love that musical. It's about how geniuses tend to end up alone and in love and sometimes murder people. Artists fail at life... Okay, well I don't love it for that. I love it because it's about how normal people make decisions that take them away from excitement.
I ran errands on campus, went to sculpture to make some measurements and saw another girl's cool work in making miniature rooms with furniture and stuff, then I went to Printing Services to get them to cut my invitations... Did some work on the secret books. I led a Bible Study tonight with a lot of great content and I was really pleased with it, then hung out and drank some apple cider with Chantal. Isaac pelted Chantal and I with airsoft gun pellets through a Slurpee straw that made weird and ethereal noises... Dave threw snow in my face after I kicked snow into his... I tried saying random words in breathy, sensuous, low tones. Words that do not work: Geek. Diarrhea. Sandwich... It's a fun game.
And that was my day.
For some reason, spring makes me think of my dear friend Mark.
Actually I know the reason. Puddles.
Today I was carrying a cardboard box (paper) with my art show invites (also paper, and rather more important) and a curtain (just washed) over hill and dale (across campus) and there were puddles everywhere... And I thought of Mark. And I realized briefly, that this is what being an adult is like. And then I realized that I had a locker.
Spring is making a slushie of the world. And I'm enjoying it. Or at least I will be until the molds and pollens and pesticides get revved up. Oh Allegra, how I will need you. Until then, I LOVE spring!
