"Where the hell is everyone?" Well, it seemed like a fair enough question. Dante frowned, walking through one of the major streets of the city, feeling increasingly wary and wishing he'd brought a weapon of some kind. (If he'd known that going on an early-morning food run would involve stepping into deserted-wasteland!New Sanctum, he would've brought a gun or two.) At first, he'd dismissed it as being 'too early in the morning' for anyone to be out, but he'd been walking around for a good hour now, and there was still no-one in sight. Not just people, though; no animals or anything. (Even his own pet dog had been notably absent when he'd been sleepily serving up the kibble, but he'd brushed it off as her just asleep in someone else's room.)

Maybe I should call home... Walking to a phonebox, he picked up the receiver only to be met with static. Giving a frustrated growl, he turned away, running a hand through his hair. "Hey!" he shouted, annoyance showing through in his tone. "Anyone here?"

“So you noticed it as well,” Vergil remarked emotionlessly as he stepped out of the dark alley, taking in his brother’s appearance for a moment before looking around the deserted street. It was certainly strange to say the least, he had never seen the city so quiet and whilst he found the silence to be a good thing, he quickly decided that there was clearly something very wrong. He seemed to be deep in thought, for once avoiding goading his brother into some kind of fight. “Whatever this is, I doubt it was demonic,” he added after a moment, the signs certainly did not point to demons, for starters he didn’t know of any demon that had the power to do this and for another, there wasn’t really much of a point in doing it.

“It almost feels like someone is playing a joke on us.” He added thoughtfully, wondering what Dante would make of all this.

Dante crossed his arms, glancing over his brother sulkily. "If you and I are the only people left in this city, kill me now," he shook his head, although he was grinning slightly. He was relieved, really, that his twin hadn't vanished along with the rest of the city, but of course he'd never actually admit it. "It's been like this all day, at least since I woke up. Creepy, huh...?" Turning to face his brother fully, he added in a serious tone, "I haven't seen anyone else around. You?"

Unable to help but feel rather amused himself, Vergil glanced around again “I haven’t seen anyone. I left early for training so no one would bother me,” he answered truthfully, unable to help but feel mildly concerned, whatever was responsible for this had to possess a lot of power. “What do you think caused this?”

Well… this is weird. Gene thought as he strode down the deserted street. He had been wondering why business was so quiet that morning, they hadn’t even received their obligatory stupid phonecalls of the morning, so he had decided to take the morning off and hang around the city, maybe see if he could pick up some more Castor Shells at the same time but there was just… no one there. All the stores were closed and the sheer silence of the street was… eerie, to say the least.

“Hey! Anybody here?!” He called, glancing around before letting out a sigh and running his fingers thorugh his red hair. “Shit.”

"Me. Can't say much for anyone else, though."

Triela brushed a long ponytail over her shoulder and crossed her arms, obviously fidgety. Glancing around, she mumbled, "Just great... This is creepy."

"Yeah," Gene agreed, acting strangely subdued as he glanced around again, as though he was trying to look for some tiny person he may have missed before. "...got any idea how this happened?" He questioned hopefully.

(OOC: I'm sorry that took so long, i've been quite busy)

...is this some kind of dream? Yuna glanced around uneasily, wrapping her arms around herself as she walked through the city streets, thoroughly unnerved by the lack of people around. Hastening her pace as she neared one of the major roads, Yuna strained to hear something, anything, some sign that she wasn't alone. It must be a dream, she decided, biting her lip as she glanced up at the sky, pinching herself lightly on the arm.

She didn't wake up. Feeling somewhat silly for even supposing she would, Yuna shook her head rapidly, forcing herself to be calm and walking forwards more purposefully, gazing straight ahead, although she still strained to hear or see any sign of life. It was then that she spotted someone in the distance; breaking into a run, she called out, "Please wait!" as she rushed towards them.

Artemis had, to his surprise and annoyance, awoken earlier that morning to find both Butler and Juliet had seemingly vanished. They hadn't left any notice of their departure and he couldn't get into contact with them, and when Artemis decided to question his mother about it (like she'd know, but it was worth a try), she had also vanished. That in itself was strange, because his mother hadn't left her bedroom in what was probably months now.

Although he was loathe to admit it, he was worried. All three had vanished without a trace, and none of the house's comminications seemed to be working, which was how he found himself wandering the streets in the hope to find more information, but things were making less and less sense and the streets were empty.

When someone called out, Artemis looked around expecting to see someone else she was addressing. But the street was deserted like every other street, save himself and the girl who had called out, who was now running towards him. Scowling, he snapped irritatedly, "What do you want?"

Breathing deeply as she stopped once she'd reached him, Yuna blushed faintly, feeling a bit embarrassed, although now wasn't really the time for that. "There's no-one else on the streets," she explained as she tried to catch her breath. Perhaps a sudden all-out run hadn't been the wisest idea. "You're the first person I've seen all day, I..." Straightening up and attempting to compose herself somewhat, she smoothed out her skirt. "Has something happened? Do you know what's going on?"

Now that she mentions it, she's the first person I've seen today too... Artemis thought, his expression still dark. "I can't get into contact with anyone, or I would know what has happened by now. It's possibly too early to jump to conclusions, but it would seem..." he trailed off for a moment, then continued, "It would seem some people have vanished. Gone without a trace."

.... what? Sora looked up at the sky again. There was nothing about it to suggest that something was wrong. Anyone who hadn't spent an hour wandering around the quickest routes towards school (due to a sudden lack in transport) would have thought everything was perfectly normal. But as the minutes ticked by, Sora felt more and more uneasy, like something was DEFINATELY wrong. In the past few seconds he had just put his finger on it - he had met, seen, or heard from noone. The city... was empty.

Surely.. not? he thought to himself again, looking around, checking and rechecking several streets. The vibe that had nagged at him all morning was growing stronger. What happened? he thought to himself, running ahead onto what he knew was a main road, pulling out his keyblade as he did so. Again, nobody was there. Trying to put it down to some joke, he yelled out to the barren air, "what's going on?!"

Kaiba Seto was not in a good mood. He had no idea what kind of practical jokes his employees were trying to pull by not turning up to work, but he was not laughing. Striding down the street and drawing his trench coat around himself, he scanned the area as though he expected to just find his employees sitting in some cafe or some other place. Naturally he didn't find anyone. What's going on? He thought irritably, stopping in the middle of the street and looking around, wondering whether there had been some kind of street parade or something that would result in the whole street being deserted.

Come to think of it, there was no one at school either, which was why I went to work in the first place. People have better things to do than play such a huge practical joke on me, so there is probably some kind of street event luring people away. Then again, Mokuba would have told me about it. He thought before glancing up as he spotted someone in front of him, his eyes narrowing. This really was too much. First he found the school deserted, ( ... )

Not expecting to hear anyone reply to him, Sora jumped several feet in the air in surprise, almost fell over, avoided screaming, and gathered himself to see some very unamused guy in front of him. "Er... you don't know what's going on?" he asked shortly. What, he was oblivious to the lack of people or something? "You mean you haven't noticed there is NOBODY around?!" he said, getting slightly frustrated.

Kaiba frowned. Is he patronising me? Hn, he should take a look at himself before he starts asking stupid questions like that, running around with a giant key. Rolling his eyes and folding his arms across his chest, he sneered "I have noticed, I didn't deem it as being very important until now. Since you don't know why the street is deserted, I suggest you stop trying to patronise me."

No.. not... not... Sakura ran absently through the streets, caring not where she was going, only on finding her destination. Her destination, being finding her family, and Yukito. When she had gone to see them; nobody was there. In fact, noone at all was even anywhere. It was like a repeat of the Final Judgement; only millions of times worse.

Before she knew it, she was crying her eyes out, her cards in her hands in the fear they'd also disappear - though if their magic was usable at all was another question. As she ran, she tripped over something, and ended up lying on the floor, probably hurting herself in someway. She didn't care. She slid herself up to rest against the wall, and sat there to cry. after a few moments, she heard a voice. Vaguely listening till she realised it was a person's voice, she croaked several times, till she managed to spit out, "Help me.. please..."

Sephiroth glanced up upon hearing Sakura's voice, hanging up the cellphone he'd been trying to use. Not that he'd had much success; no signal, even when he tried using the private Shin-Ra channel. To be fair, a world without President Shin-Ra wasn't exactly a terrible thought, but the city seemed to be devoid of, well, anything. Anything except the voice he'd just heard, at least.

Walking towards where he'd heard Sakura and turning the corner to see her, he stared down at her impassively. It would figure that the only person in this city aside from him was an agitated-looking teenage girl. (Well, as long as she didn't think he was a shoulder to cry on.) "Do you know what's going on in this city?" he questioned briskly, gesturing around loosely.

Sakura looked up as she saw the person in front of her. Her vision took a few seconds to re-aline itself from all the tears welling up in her eyes, and when she did, knew she did not know him at all. The only comfort from the fact he was there was that there was at least someone still here.

"N-no..." she said, looking up at him with her eyes filled with fear. "... nobody's here," she established - which, being so obvious, Sephiroth had probably already guessed that a long time ago.

"I noticed," Sephiroth responded, not even thinking to try and soften his tone. Sephiroth simply wasn't good with people any way you sliced it, and he had no real wish to relate to them, hence the complete lack of empathy or social skills. "You haven't seen anyone else?" he confirmed after a moment. Logic dictated if he and that girl were the only ones here, there had to be some kind of significance, but he'd never seen the girl before in his life, had no idea who she was. Still, there had to be some kind of connection...
