Thanks for all the input on the last one, as always. It's given me a bit more perspective, and I always love hearing what you guys think about stuff like that.

And hello to all the Paradisans now on my f-list! Expect, uh, lots of rambling crap about videogames and weird brainfarts and the occasional actual creative thing. Which brings me to this!

I think the unexpected aftereffects of the 'everyone is special/hands-off' method of childraising is most prevalent on services like Xbox Live.

While boosting up a child's confidence is, of course, brilliant, telling them that they are special and talented and lovely and unique and never raising a hand to them apparently causes certain types to take that completely to heart, to the point where their egos are so big and fragile from the lack of humility that if they lose, they need to flip out and accuse the other people of hacking the game, because obviously there is no way that they could lose. Because they're special! How could they?

Alternatively, there's a lot of brats around that need a good smack around the head, but hey. Same diff, really.
