One Tree Hill and Philippine Idol

Rachel. I hate her. HATE. Some of the shows I watch like Prison Break, House have characters I detest from time to time but at least the actors make up for it with their believable acting. However, the crappy writing on OTH coupled with gruesome acting is a trainwreck that pains and sears my corneas. At least there's the Lucas/Haley friendship, one of the redeeming factors of the recent episode.

I'm beginning to be irked with Nathan's character. Okay -- I'm just probably annoyed with the direction that he's given during the Rachel scene where he leans onto her. I don't like emo Nathan. Let's face it, James is not a very good actor to begin with, so when his acting is coupled with horrible direction and writing, it becomes awful all around. Hey, Joshua Jackson had crap writing with Dawson's Creek too but at least he had the goods to pull it off, acting-wise.

But I still love you, James. Shirtless, preferably.

Bethany, on the other hand, has the goods. I liked the last scene where she was being honest about being jealous. It showed character growth. She was effortlessly, beautifully honest and glowing during that scene that I almost forgot Rachel was in the show.

Why does the plot device on this show have to be pregnancies???! Can't Mark Schwahn think of anything more, uh, COMPELLING?!

Moreover, why do they have to write Brooke that way? When she made that bitchy comeback about Peyton's mother sleeping around, oh my God... what?! I can't imagine why Peyton is friends with her when she says things like that. But then, she managed to score some good points when she defended Haley and kept Haley's secret. Ugh, I hate the writers.

I digress. Let's go to that other thing that pisses me off. The results of Philippine Idol.

Reymond and Gian were in the bottom two but Ken is still there?! SIYET.

He is not sexy.

He's not a good singer.

He's bland.

And no. NO.

I don't get it!!!! *runs haphazardly around the room, screaming*

Fuck. At least Ryan Cayabyab is there. Sometimes, I think he and I have a mind meld. During the results show, he said: "Next show, titira na ako." Oh, you shoulda done that weeks ago! But still, I'm glad that he's going to be very critical next weekend, because God help me if Pow or Mau get eliminated before Ken. The voting sucks.
