October Randomness

  • This is why I'm perfectly comfortable working alone. Because people? They suck. Work is not really that burdensome because of the workload (well, sometimes it is), but because of people around you. The human mind and interpersonal relations are only few of the reasons why I'm so stressed. But maaan, those two give me headaches. Simply put, there are a lot of wackos out there. And I'm supposed to be weird. WHAT?
  • As many of you know, I like Sarah Geronimo. It just dawned on me last night that I like her more than I think I do when I asked Grace (who works at Jollibee) to give me a Jollibee poster of her. But I have to say that Sarah is pretty cool, as a singer, as an actress and probably as a person as well. I see so much sincerity about her. She's so guileless and charming which shows when she acts. When she "cries" it kind of makes me cringe because she seems like a very happy person in real life. And even when she hosts and they make her say some stupid lines, she makes it entertaining. Ah well, here's the obligatory Sarah photo, heh.

This was taken at Cagayan a year ago. The only reason why I didn't post this right away was because I look stupid.

  • Prison Break, House, and Project Runway make me happy. Especially Project Runway -- but what was that stunt they pulled when they didn't eliminate anyone last ep? Pretty meh. But overall, I'm glad that Michael is still there. However, I kind of miss the camaraderie of s1 and s2. Aw J-Bird, Mario and Kara Saun. Aw Nick Verrios, Santino, Chloe, and Daniel Vosovic. I blame it all on Jeffrey. Boy, do I want to punch his fucking tat-filled neck. And speaking of Jay...
I think his collection looks real good. I really love it. Wheee, pretty!

  • I think it's great that Wowowee is helping a lot of people. But I don't think it's great when they manipulate people's emotions with the leading questions and overdramatic score/piano. There are some stupid questions that Willy asks and I think that the answers are pretty much written on people's faces especially when they choose to show up in their soiled, ratty clothes. The general population gets it and there's no need to hit us with some goddamned anvil. These people obviously don't have a lot of money and they are being asked questions that, not so much concretizes the fact that they are poor, but more for the purpose of slashing bleeding hearts for the sake of "good television." But then again, I haven't really agreed with the choices of the media here in general so whatever.
  • I've discussed this with my friend awhile ago and we both agreed that media has an adverse effect on Filipinos. The soaps which feature the stereotypical "rich abusive boss" and the "crying aping atsay" enables more people to believe in that crap. They believe it to the point that they fail to try because that's what life is all about -- the rich VS the poor. And to some extent, the daily news also influence those kinds of stereotypes.
Eric Santos, stop caterwauling. You too, Regine. Jeebus.

Whew, glad to get that offa my chest.

life, television
