have yourself a gory little Christmas

As a teenager, I generally watched a slasher movie on Christmas Day. The Corpse Grinders holds some especially fond memories for me, but lately I haven't found anything of sufficiently low calibre to bring me festive delight. It doesn't help that video stores don't really exist these days- don't get me wrong, I love it that I can download all kind of crazy shit, but it somehow doesn't hold the same thrill as running home with a dusty VHS box, shoving the tape in the vcr and hoping the static will clear in time for all the shocking parts.

Anyhow, I want to resurrect this rather sick tradition this year, though I will have to do it via the Internet, and remove one layer of grimy fun for myself. But what to watch? I've always been intrigued by the poetically titled Witch Who Came from the Sea, but most of the reviews I read suggest it may actually be far too well made and genuinely disturbing in content to really work for my purpose, which is the pursuit of cheap thrills. That said, I don't like Troma movies at all. So I might try and find something worthless made in Europe with a few low rent American "stars". Or just let myself be seduced by a really awful title. I Dismember Mama is suitably groanworthy, but Slaughtered Vomit Dolls just sounds like a metal band composed of 14 year olds who don't speak much english. Maybe something seasonal then. Any movies out there about satanic rabid reindeer?
