Another crisis at work, combined with my studies for my final exams is what has been keeping me away from Live Journal. I guess I should start of with the drama at work first. You know what I hate the most about working once a week? You have to rely on a bunch of noobs, who are being watched by a slacker of a boss, to take care of the creatures my partners and I work so hard to capture! Last week Saturday I spent 3 hours going on a hot and sweaty lizard hunt. My staff shirt was torn, I had scratches on my back, and I was out of breath. For minute I thought I had just finished having intercourse with a angry woman who missed an episode of Passions. Anyway, finding 3 different kinds of lizards around this time of year is no easy task. Plus their bites aren't too pleasant. Once I had finally captured a decent amount (8 lizards), I put together this wicked exhibit for them. My boss was so proud...she didn't think I could pull it off by myself. So after placing the lizards into their new home (I wish I took pictures) I left a long note explaining that I only want these lizards to be given flies (which I have fun catching by the fly lure traps)because my department is having an ant issue, and I didn't want any ants in my their tank.
So can somebody tell me why I arrived today at work to discover my lizards being attacked and eaten by an army of ants? Some noob put banana in a dish and left it there for a few days, and this attracted the ants. And these weren’t any old ants...these were soldier ants, which have nasty looking claws, but small nonetheless. I picked up my Jamaican Anole lizard and he totally flipped out in my hands. He kept jumping out and kept trying to escape, but I caught him because I knew something was wrong. I turned him over on his back and I found this hole on his belly. I touched it and these ants started coming out of the hole. These things were eating my lizards from the inside-out! I tried to do something about it, but the lizard kept struggling with pain...not that I blame it. I had no choice but to end its life. So I threw all the lizards that were slowly being killed into a tank full of hungry horse-eye jacks. Their deaths were quick, so no need to worry. Now I have to go and hunt the person who left the banana in the tank. One thing is for sure...I won't be the one to break the news to my main boss, Lisa. But I will find out who didn't follow simple orders.
As for college...everything is going ok. My math could be ALLOT better. I'm having a hard time finding the right moments to practice some of the kinds of problems that keep getting the best of me. I'll probably end up taking the whole course again next semester, and I don't really mind. After all, only a few people are passing. Something must be wrong with this teacher's techniques, because how do you start of with a class of 30...and have 10 left over come finals? But I'll be sure to pass all of my other courses, no worries.
And I wish I knew who is giving my cell number to girls I don't even know!
