Bermudian Slang

Nov 10, 2006 20:22

I was kind of bored so I decided to post up as much Bermudian slang I can think off. If only I could post a voice post, so you can actually here it...but typing them out will just have to do for now. The reason I have done this is because these two girls (one is from England, the other from Germany) are coming to work at the Aquarium for a little while, and they told me that they are interested in Bermudian slang. I myself grew out of this kind of talk LONG ago. Guess you can say my parents raised me well, lol. Or I simply got tired of using it. So I'll post them below and trust me...most of it sounds SO STUPID! The ones with a * next to them indicates that I still say it!

1. "Down de road by!" = "Down the road man."

2. "Gonna go down my boy's yard." = “Going to my friend's house.”

3. "The worms are biting." = I'm hungry."*

4. "Gonna go home and flex right out yoh!" = “I'm going to go home and relax."

5. "4 real, 4 realz." = Yeah I know, you got that right, etc."*

6. "By I needa greeze!" = I need some food! (Whoever made that one needs to be shot!!!)

7. "Stop messing with Palm-Leta and get a girlfriend!" = Stop masturbating."

8. "That was off de hook!" = "That was a pretty cool party/experience."

9. "I'd warm you ina heartbeat/You wana get dropped?" = I can beat you in a fight."

10. "Yoh step-up...step-up!" = "Get it together."

The list goes one, but those are the kinds of things you'll hear teens, well some teens, say here. As you can see I hardly use any of these, but I am addicted to "4 realz." I hope you got amused by this, I know I sure have, lol.

confusing yet amusing terms, hilarious, amused, fun, messed up words, bermuda, bermudian slang
