Daisy's eyes shifted between the cash that she had clenched in one hand and the PDA that she had balanced on her knee.

She had a lot of questions, but the presence of a sudden influx of free money was enough to at least allay any rising sense of panic. Not to mention that when she looked out the window, she was greeted with a breathtaking skyscape.

But it wasn't Seattle, and it wasn't New York, nor was it any of the other towns she'd known backwards and forward in her (admittedly long) time. She was hit with the passing strange thought that maybe she had taken her last reap, and didn't remember. Maybe this was the next step.

But then again, there was the cash, which didn't seem like it would exactly be part of heaven. Not that she'd ever expected Post Its to fit into the afterlife scheme, when she'd been alive.

Either way, she needed to know if she was alone here, so she flicked on the PDA, even as she stuffed the money into a purse that was laid out beside the clothing, and headed out into the hallways.

Well that was some nice news after a rather "interesting" few months -- interesting in the sense that his fake little sister accidentally ingested a few of his special pills and spent the a great deal of the time staring at the wall, fascinated by the colors. He had told her that he'd done the same, but actually had been taking care of her and worrying a bit that she might not quite come out of it. Irreversible damage and all that, since it seemed any real damage that he did to himself didn't quite stick. Funny little way that worked. Still couldn't quite figure out why ( ... )

She'd worked her way down to the lobby of the hotel, and managed to get some not-helpful-at-all information from the man at the front desk, despite whatever charms she piled on.

"Look, I at least want to know what state I'm in," she was saying, frustration creeping in at the edges of her voice, but at the same moment her eyes raked across the crowd and landed on the one particularly raffish looking citizen wandering through a sea of well coiffed people who actually looked as if they belonged here. "Never mind, excuse me," she said, pushing away from the desk and making her way briskly across the lobby floor, heels clicking away.

"Mason, over here!" she waved impatiently.

Unfortunately for Lyserg, the waiting he had to do after Miharu had ended their conversation was a bit longer than he’d originally intended; he’d found the blind person without much difficulty, but the problem had occurred once he’d actually gotten the man up to Elysium to see Madara. How was Miharu supposed to know that Izuna was his boss’s brother? (and still that word felt so weird for Madara, boss; Miharu had already decided he probably wouldn’t use it anymore.)

...the teen’s lips twitched slightly at that, but otherwise he didn’t ling eron the train of thought. What had been done had been done, after all.

Regardless of all this, the fact that he still arrived at the hotel in Terra quite a bit later than expected was a fact (no matter how much of a hurry he’d been in to get there) and when he finally showed up he worried that the troll person he’d spoken with had left already ( ... )

"IS THIS REALLY A HOTEL, IT LOOKS LIKE A CLOSET" HOTEL || ABYSS neo_mod December 2 2009, 03:45:58 UTC

Outside of Temari's cracked window was a desolate wasteland that reminded her of the abandoned Manahattan that she had seen months ago. Of course, she had allies when she had arrived in that particular brand of hell. Here, she had seen one familiar face, and he did not recognize her at all. He thought he was a student and an intern. More importantly, he thought she was dead.

Was this what happened to terminated subjects? Were their minds wiped before being dropped into this place? And if so, what had gone wrong with her? She could remember her village, her brothers, her time in the facility . . .

Shikamaru was supposed to be coming to find her, to take her out of this pit. Whatever that meant. For now, she would stay in her room and wait, watching shapes moving through the shadows outside of her window.

Shikamaru moved cautiously down the stairs and towards that chakra signature that was so familiar. It was a small comfort in this strange new place to know that Temari was here too. Upsetting for the very same reason, but they had a better chance of figuring out what was happening working together.

He'd assumed they'd just been transferred to a different facility at first, but the more he heard the less likely that idea became. No collars at all, communicators that didn't lead to the usual network, and what seemed to be an existing population with absolutely no idea who he was or where he'd come from... except for the other him who assumed he was out to viciously murder... himself.

He called out before opening the door he assumed Temari was behind. He knew she'd be able to feel him coming, but he also knew better than to take any chances of surprising a hair-trigger shinobi in an unfamiliar situation.

"Temari?

Probably a very wise decision, since Temari was on full alert. As far as she could tell, they were in an entirely new situation. Having full access to her chakra was a small boon that she intended to maximize. Feeling Shikamaru's chakra signature at the door, coupled with the familiar voice, was an immediate relief.

"Come in, it's open." Anything that was a real threat wouldn't be stopped by a lock on a flimsy door. Temari was still standing by the window of her small, dirty room. "We're in deep this time, Shikamaru."

There was something wrong here. -- That, in itself, was not a difficult thing to pinpoint. Nonetheless, it seemed to summarize the gravity of the situation well enough. The thick wad of bills and the handheld device did little to alleviate the danger of the fact that he had woken to find himself in a strange hotel in a strange city. A quick glance through what looked like some sort of message board made the message clear: something was wrong here ( ... )

Well, there was one thing Kakihara was positive about. This wasn’t Shinjuku. That, and his head hurt like hell. But this place didn’t look like hell either. What a shame, he was actually looking forward to that. But there was no mistake that he had fallen to his death - and for that, he rubbed the back of his head as he looked around the city. The cash was in his pocket and those clothes? Some people had no style at all. So he wore what he died in ( ... )

Admittedly, it was partly his fault. He'd let his thoughts wander a bit while he walked -- too absorbed in wondering what on earth this situation was, how this could have happened, where this place was -- and wasn't exactly looking ahead. So it wasn't that much of a surprise when the next moment, Shun walked face-first into a figure rounding the corner from the opposite direction. Falling back a step, he looked up and noted the flamboyant features for a moment -- some sort of rock star, maybe? -- before giving a small nod. "I'm sorry, please excuse me, I should have been looking where I was going." A quiet apology in polite, respectful English ( ... )
