First Steps as a Doctor to Be

Jun 22, 2006 19:08

My Orientation Days at the Med School are done with. Granted, these were not the ones for the school I'll be actually going to, but to a school I've decided not to go to. Still, I heard important things I needed to hear. Study skills, safety practices, and all kinds of things a person needs to hear when he is about to start Medicine School. So, no ( Read more... )

I'm so excited for you! Don't be scared, everything is going to be great. I have some friends in the Midlands, I've been there before. It's very......pastoral! You should totally go to York if you get the chance, I don't think it's *too* far from where you'll be. A train ride away.

p.s. SO JEALOUS. haha!

Oh, thanks. I'm not so much scared as anxious. Ha ha. I'm naturally that way. It's nice to know the place will be cool. Thanks! Pastoral. Not done that yet. I think I'll enjoy that.

Nah, nothing to be jealous about, love. You can come and visit one day. We'll blast Zeppelin! Ha ha!

I never was that fond of the orientations, cept when I was a high school freshman. That was cool. But other than that? Didn't ever like them. (They all seemed more like "social gather" rather than "orientation" here)

And thanks! It was fun to get away for a few days but I'm really glad to be back home lol

You vacation seemed Ok to me, though. I bet you had some fun! Ha ha!

I liked the orientation. The school's just not my type. I do not see myself happy there, no matter what folks swear. So sorry! I dig orientations, because I get all thrillish inside. Ha ha!

I DID have lots of fun, but I'm a bit of a home body and adore being home. *laughs* Boring, I know, but I genuinely like my house...I just get annoyed with gramma and mom occassionally. (Which is why the vacation was perfectly timed)

Ahhh..*nods*

I would have liked our orientations more, but like I said they were more "oo let me be seen!" and not "okay, this is who I'll be taught by" so yeah.

Heh - I did notice that, yeah. The people saying and doing things that irked me, and you're right -- it was more of a "loook at ME!" kind-of-a thing. GRR! I hated the school. Too bad Rick drove 8+ hours to be there!!!

I get tired of my mom, too.
She irks me at times.

I got my list of books! I got the list of materials I need to buy...

Must feel like Hogwarts. Cor, Harry! You're headed off to become an Auror.

Yeah, Ron.
It does feel like that... But, I'm pretty much still left in the air, since I don't know what my courses will be on the first modules, and I'm not sure what books those will require. I don't really have any idea, yet. I wish classes didn't start in September. What's more, I wish I wasn't moving out in Sept! I'm gonna hate (read, hate!) those months. At least I know some headboy will be taking care of my floor, once I get there.

Ta, Ron!

Like they won't bombard you with that information the minute you get there, if not before. Don't worry so much about it, Harry. Worry instead about... I dunno. Decent socks.

got my list of books! I got the list of materials I need to buy: gloves, face masks, scrubs, a microscope, a computer, a dissection kit, closed shoes.

Dissection kit!!! That right there... well I couldn't be a doctor! Two of my cousins (brother and sister) are doctors. My cousin told me a few stories about doing surgery and those first experiences, but that was a long time ago. I just couldn't do it. I guess some poeple have the stomach for it, and thank goodness, because we need good doctors in this world to help us out.

I've always thought that was a really strange photo of Robert! I firs saw it on the inner sleeve of the BBC Sessions, and wondered why they picked that pic of all pics. It's funny, cause when I look at that one... I always feel like I'm looking at that actor... the one who was in the 80s movies Weird Science and Sixteen Candles. lol (he grew up to be a handsome man)

Ha ha! One of my fears is that I'll faint or something in the anatomy lab, the first days. Oh, cool, your family's got doctors. Coolers!

This picture of Rob I hadn't seen yet. Strange how there's always something NEW to see, eh? Ha ha! When I saw this I got the feeling it was done in the style of Kurt Cobain. He reminds me of Kurt, of that lost, strange emotion on his face.

Hey--
I got to see some of that show of Robert's on UTube, which was awesome! Wow.

Yes I know what you mean... maybe there is a little Kurt in that photo.

HOLY FUCK SOMEONE PUT UP VIDEOS FROM THE SHOW I WAS AT!!!!! SQUEEEEEEE I'll have to share with my zeppy friends the video my brother made. It was only one short one, but it came out so good.

Those people must of been up in the very front row or a few back. The very front row in the center... those seats went for about $1000 US, they had been auctioned off.

You don't happen to have msn, now do you, love?
I mean, it seems like you're online at the same time I am.

Yes, someone did, at Utube. It's great! Cuz I get to see it!
I'd love to see your video! Amazing, man. That it cost that much. Wowow!
