I dropped the ball again. This is the monthly post to discuss how I never post.
Updates/Thoughts:
I'm finishing my reading certification this summer, with the REESOL course. This marks the end of the free district education I'll be attaining (aside from courses that interest me).
I'll be applying to start grad school at FGCU this fall for an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction (Elementary Education Concentration).
I'm now certified to mentor a pre-service teacher, and each FGCU student who I mentor for a semester will gain me 3 hours of coursework for free from the school. Plus, any extra funds from clubs/tutoring during the school year will go to pay for tuition/books as well. After I finish my Master's, I'll be going for the Doctorate. This is all going to take quite some time...one class per semester for 36 hours. That's 9 hours per year if I take summer courses (aka if I can afford them) but it'll probably be closer to 6 per year. I'll be finished with the MEd by 2016. Yeah, that's a long time, but I really don't want to take out loans to pay for this, and I really enjoy being in the classroom. I think field experience will make me more marketable when I'm applying for a teaching position at the university level.
My bosses like me and think I'm an important part of the team. This thrills and excites me beyond telling.
I'm still not pregnant that I know of. I'll be 27 in one week and I originally thought I would be a mom by the time I turned 25. Oh, well, life has a way of changing plans. In related news, I think I'm starting to nest. The nursery is becoming full of baby things (mostly given to us, but a few purchased at the local thrift store).
Deric and I are hoping he gets moved to days with FedEx. He comes home just when I'm getting sleepy in the evenings and I see him for about an hour total on weekdays. =(
Big plans for next weekend, birthday stuff, D&D, snuggles, etc. I hope my allergies cool down by then.
That's really about all that's going on, folks. I'm working 50+ hours per week and finding it hard to log on when I've been on the computer for so long already at work. If you comment I will catch you in my e-mail. I also read my FL a few times per week, but finding the time to actually sit and post on something that's more than a two or three sentence blurb (thanks FB) is more difficult for me than you'd think. So, yeah. I'm not dead, just quiet.
not dead!,
